Vintage Great Western Railway Guards Pocket Watch C1920A superb example and evry interesting collectable. Great western railway pocket watch. C1920. In uflly original condition. This is a high quality watch. With a superb swiss made movement. The dial si marked gwr with serial no 03397. The dial has a slight chip between figs 10 and 11 but this does not detract from the character of this super timepiece! The watch crystal appears to be totally original adn does have a small edge chip and some slight scratching but this is clearly representative of many years of service on the railway. The rear of the case bears the serial no 03397 and has a further stamp of br (w). The br(w) may have been added when the gwr became part of british railways in 1948. This watch has recently been extensively serviced. This watch is winding well and running strongly and is keepign excellent time. A great opportunity to aquire a superb railway watch, which clearly has seen extensive service throughout the glory days of steam on the great western railway in the thirties and forties!
